About The Position
Welocalize is seeking English into Romanian translators to join their team for a music streaming company client. The role involves translating and reviewing content, contributing to the success of the program, and taking ownership of incoming work. The client offers services such as music streaming and podcasts. This is a remote freelance position based in the US or Canada, requiring approximately 15 hours per week. Tasks include translation and copy editing of various content types like 'Informational', 'Legal', 'Marketing', 'Product', and 'Support' using CAT tools such as Phrase and Lucid.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience translating and reviewing content in marketing and product, and informational subject matter.
- Proficient in various translation & terminology tools.
- Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written).
- Some degree of proficiency in Romanian.
- Native fluency in Romanian.
- Degree in linguistics, translation or equivalent experience.
- Ability to follow instructions, e.g., character restrictions.
- Ability to communicate effectively the rationale behind transcreation skills.
- Technical (UI, CS) and creative (synopses, episodic titles) knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Translate and review content from English into Romanian, ensuring the original meaning is conveyed in a readable and understandable manner for the target audience.
- Work with content types including 'Informational', 'Legal', 'Marketing', 'Product', and 'Support'.
- Utilize CAT tools such as Phrase and Lucid.
- Follow instructions, including character restrictions.
- Effectively communicate the rationale behind transcreation skills.
