About The Position

Requirements

• Possess a valid state clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Ph.D./Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology) with no adjudicated adverse actions on the licensure
• Meet the Defense Health Agency (DHA) requirements for independent credentialing and privileging by the local Medical Treatment Facility (MTF)
• Engaged in direct patient care within the past two years (peer-reviewable experience)
• Completion of DHA reference forms by a current or recent clinical supervisor and peer is required for MTF credentialing and privileging before hire
• Hold a current US driver’s license
• Eligible to obtain a US military ID card, credentialing at military hospital and approval by client
• Ability to acquire favorable results for Childcare National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI)
• Must be a US Citizen
• Master’s or higher-level degree from a mental health counseling program of education and training accredited for Mental Health Counseling or Clinical Mental Health Counseling by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) (for LCSW/LPC)
• Master's or doctoral degree in marriage and family therapy from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE) OR a qualifying graduate degree in an allied mental health field from a regionally accredited education institution in conjunction with a program of marriage and family therapy study that is equivalent to the COAMFTE standards as defined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) (for LMFT)
• Two (2+) years of supervised post graduate counseling experience working with an adolescent population
• Actively practiced in the past two (2) years (i.e., direct patient care that is peer reviewable)
• Possession of or eligibility for a state or national alcohol and drug counseling (AOD) certification
• Passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) (for LPC)
• Possess a clinical membership credential issued by the AAMFT (for LMFT)

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing a community-based adolescent substance abuse prevention and treatment program
• Interfacing and networking with military branches and the community to identify adolescents in need of services
• Supporting family quality of life by offering individual, group and family counseling
• Intake, screening, assessment, and management of case load
• Provide AOD training and specialized education on a variety of topics
• Treatment planning, discharge, records management, and continuing care planning for caseload
• Participation in quality assurance
• Case record management and documentation
• Securing and maintaining written referral agreements with all community agencies and briefing referral agencies about the ASACS program
• Demonstrate creativity and skill in prevention education, community referral agreements, and program marketing
• Utilize word processing, basic databases/email systems, and manage files electronically
• Apply knowledge of risk management and program development to enhance services and programs
