About The Position
The Yard Jockey supports the movement of trailers to support the needs of the warehouse in sorting and processing material for shipment or storage. Yard Jockey is responsible for timely movements and thorough knowledge of on-hand inventory and positioning.
Requirements
- Experience in trailer spotting and relocation using a yard truck (Required)
- Regularly required to sit; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
- Always follow Triple-S safe methods of work and immediately advise the supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
- Maintain an organized, clean yard to support efficient operations.
- Safely operate a yard truck within site speed limits.
- Perform basic vehicle inspections and maintenance.
- Assist with refueling, minor repairs, and equipment upkeep.
- Maintain trip master units.
- Support operations and serve as a backup when needed to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with team members.
- Other duties as assigned
