About The Position

The City of Everett Public Works Department is currently accepting applications for Seasonal Day Laborers. This employment is temporary (up to six months in duration). It is mandatory that the employee in this position contribute to the Washington State Public Employees Retirement System. This contribution is refundable upon the employees request at the completion of employment. These positions are not provided with City of Everett benefits. This is unskilled work performing a variety of physical tasks relating to the maintenance and repair of city streets, storm drains, sewer and water systems. Duties may include, but are not limited to, grounds keeping, painting, errands, general cleaning, pick and shovel work, and assisting crews with routine or special projects. Grounds keeping may include the use of various equipment such as weedeater, pressure washer, hand and power lawn mowers and power hedge trimmer.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Possession of a valid Washington State driver’s license
