About The Position

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possession of a valid Washington State driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Performing a variety of physical tasks relating to the maintenance and repair of city streets, storm drains, sewer and water systems.
• Grounds keeping, painting, errands, general cleaning, pick and shovel work.
• Assisting crews with routine or special projects.
• Using equipment such as weedeater, pressure washer, hand and power lawn mowers and power hedge trimmer.
• Identifying hazards including electrical hazards.
• Operating small hand and power tools and light equipment, autos and pickup trucks.
• Following verbal and written instructions.
• Keeping accurate work records.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with supervisors, coworkers and the public.
• Supporting diversity and multi-cultural understanding in the workplace.
• Maintaining a work environment free of discrimination, harassment and retaliation.
• Being punctual and dependable.
• Working safely and in compliance with city policies and standards.
