About The Position

ServiceSource is a non-profit organization that champions people with disabilities and hires persons with significant disabilities for many of its direct labor positions. The Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining factory working areas, washrooms, and other establishments. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and orderly environment. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • At least one (1) year custodial experience.
  • Ability to understand and follow direction.
  • Knowledge of various cleaning products and when to use them.
  • Good oral/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors.
  • Removing chips, trash, and other refuse.
  • Dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures.
  • Polishing metal fixtures or trimmings.
  • Providing supplies and minor maintenance services.
  • Cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms.
  • Maintaining building interior by dusting and polishing furniture, equipment, mirrors, and fixtures.
  • Washing windows, counters, walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, and waxing floors.
  • Cleaning and vacuuming drapes, furniture, and carpeting including carpet scrubbing.
  • Resupplying restrooms.
  • Replacing light bulbs.
  • Maintaining building accessibility and appearance by picking up papers and trash.
  • Removing trash by emptying trash containers, transporting materials to disposal area, and collecting recycling materials.
  • Keeping cleaning equipment operational by following manufacturer's operating and care guidelines, and completing operator repairs and parts replacement.
  • Maintaining parts and equipment inventory by checking stock, anticipating needed parts, anticipating cleaning equipment replacement, and placing orders.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
