About The Position
The Iron Worker is responsible for completing tasks related to structural iron and steel erection in a timely and quality manner while maintaining safety and productivity. The role is with Loenbro West in Elko, Nevada, and reports to the Superintendent. The work may involve manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environments, including repairing overhead bridge crane runway systems. The position requires compliance with applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro’s Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies. The work environment may include extreme hot or cold temperatures, limited working surfaces and visibility, noise above 85 decibels, and intense odors.
Requirements
- GED or high school diploma.
- TWIC Card and/or Real ID.
- Ability to work at heights in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work from ladders and scaffolds.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks during long shifts.
- Math skills, including adding and subtracting fractions.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Assist with work area layout, assembly, and installation of structural steel.
- Take measurements and assist with setting up rigging, unloading materials, and shaking out materials.
- Install safety lines and posts.
- Clean the work area and help keep it safe.
