About The Position
The Iron Worker completes tasks related to structural iron and steel erection in a timely, quality manner while maintaining safety and productivity. The role involves work area layout, assembly, and installation of structural steel, as well as installing safety lines and posts and helping keep the work area clean and safe. Work may take place in manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environments, including repairing overhead bridge crane runway systems.
Requirements
- GED or high school diploma.
- TWIC Card and/or Real ID.
- Ability to work at heights in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work from ladders and scaffolds.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks during long shifts.
- Math skills, including adding and subtracting fractions.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Assist with work area layout, assembly, and installation of structural steel.
- Take measurements and assist with setting up rigging, unloading, and shaking out material.
- Install safety lines and posts.
- Clean the work area and help keep it safe.
