About The Position

Mullins Mechanical is seeking an Ironworker to join its team. The role involves reading prints and plans, using fabrication tools and machinery, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, and rigging and moving materials. The Ironworker must follow safety rules and regulations and maintain a clean, safe work area. A flexible working schedule may be needed to support project requirements. Mullins Mechanical is a self-performing specialty contractor that works on design-build applications and projects involving HVAC, plumbing, process piping, boiler and chiller systems, equipment installation and rigging, plant relocation and maintenance, fire protection, and metal fabrication. Projects are commonly located in industrial and heavy commercial environments, including manufacturing and automotive plants, chemical plants, distribution centers, warehouses, and data centers.

Requirements

Positive can-do attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to take detailed instructions.
Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.
Hands-on experience with fabrication tools and machinery is suggested in the job description's introductory description of the desired candidate.

Nice To Haves

Experience with machine equipment such as a mill or drill press.
Formal or technical education.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret prints and plans.
Properly use fabrication shop hand tools, including grinders, drills, and air tools.
Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
Operate vertical and horizontal band saws.
Rig, hoist, lift, and move materials.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
Perform daily housekeeping in the shop and/or work area.
Maintain a flexible working schedule to support project needs.
