About The Position
A high-volume, fast-paced immigration law firm is seeking an Immigration Attorney to support individuals and families navigating the U.S. immigration process. The position is based in Rockville, Maryland, and is advertised as remote. Employment may be full-time or contract, depending on the candidate’s availability and background. The attorney will prepare and file a range of immigration petitions and applications, maintain current knowledge of immigration laws and regulations, communicate with clients to collect documentation and provide case updates, and represent clients in interviews or appointments before immigration agencies and courts. Court appearances are limited to non-litigation matters.
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active bar license in Virginia or Maryland, in good standing.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in immigration law.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage case deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Technological proficiency, including experience with immigration law platforms and case management systems.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual skills, especially Spanish, are a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file family-based and employment-based petitions.
- Prepare and file applications for Adjustment of Status, Naturalization/Citizenship, NACARA, TPS, asylum, and waivers.
- Prepare and file immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions and applications, including PERM, EB-5, and H-1B matters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws and regulations.
- Communicate with clients to gather documentation and provide case updates.
- Prepare for and represent clients in interviews or appointments before USCIS, ICE, CBP, and Immigration Courts, with court appearances limited to non-litigation matters.
- Manage case deadlines with strong attention to detail.
