About The Position
The Hemodialysis Technician is an unlicensed health care provider who assists the Registered Nurse, within the technician’s scope of practice, in caring for patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. The position is in the Renal Dialysis department at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois, and is scheduled for day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The technician maintains and disinfects dialysis equipment, orders and stocks supplies needed for inpatient dialysis treatment, and monitors and cleans the supply area. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
- Hemodialysis Technician Certification (CCHT), or equivalent training.
Nice To Haves
- One year of hemodialysis experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Registered Nurse with care of patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment, within scope of practice.
- Maintain and disinfect dialysis equipment.
- Order and stock supplies needed for inpatient dialysis treatment.
- Monitor and clean the supply area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
