About The Position
Patient Care Technicians provide high-quality care to patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). They monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording vital signs, initiating cannulation, observing patients, and setting up hemodialysis machines. The role combines technical skills with a passion for caring for people and building relationships that improve patients’ quality of life.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Desire to care for people and comfort working around blood and needles.
- Experienced Patient Care Technicians must hold current certification from BONENT, NNCC, NNCO, or another applicable state-approved certifying body.
- Experienced Patient Care Technicians must have current BLS/CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
- Measure and record patient statistics.
- Initiate cannulation.
- Observe patients during treatment.
- Set up hemodialysis machines.
