The Heavy Equipment Operator safely operates a variety of heavy machinery to support Tasman’s construction earthwork field operations. This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and operating equipment in compliance with safety standards while supporting daily job site activities. This position may begin as temporary with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and project needs.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of proper operation and safety standards for heavy equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Oil and gas industry experience
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or willingness to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment including front loaders, trackhoes, backhoes, and mini excavators
  • Load, unload, and transport materials to designated work or storage areas
  • Support site operations and assist field crews as needed
  • Inspect equipment before and after use to ensure safe operation
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs
  • Report mechanical issues or larger repair needs to supervisors promptly
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Operate equipment in compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings when working near crews and other machinery
