About The Position

Join our school nutrition team as a Food Service Worker and help prepare fresh, nutritious meals that give students the energy to learn and thrive! This role involves prepping, light cooking, and preparing a variety of meals according to school menus, ensuring all food is safely cooked and presented with care. You will maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, work with team members to serve meals in a timely, friendly manner, and support special dietary needs and food allergy safety procedures. The position offers a family-friendly schedule with no nights, weekends, or holidays, paid training, steady hours, and the opportunity to be part of a mission that matters. The role is under the direct supervision of the Food Services Manager and will perform duties as assigned, ranging from 2.5 to 5.5 hours per day.

  • Has manual dexterity to handle knives and other pieces of kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, steamers, ovens and dishwashers

Responsibilities

  • Prep, light cooking and prepare a variety of meals according to school menus
  • Ensure all food is safely cooked and presented with care
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace
  • Work with team members to serve meals in a timely, friendly manner
  • Support special dietary needs and food allergy safety procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Serve and present food in a visually appealing manner
  • Use Mosaic POS system to process transactions and reconcile cash
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as, but not limited to ovens, slicers, steamers, stove tops, warmers and dishwashers
  • Conform to all safe food handling, storage and sanitation methods in accordance with guidelines
  • Prepare food according to the recipes and directions provided by the Food Services Manager
  • Help and assist Cooks, Bakers and other team members with joint tasks when other assigned tasks are completed
  • Regular and on-time attendance is required for student support
  • Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may be designated or assigned by the Food Services Manager
