EMR is hiring a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor with strong tractor trailer mechanic experience to lead maintenance operations for a mixed fleet operating in demanding, high-wear environments. This is a working supervisor role ideal for a Senior Diesel Mechanic, Shop Foreman, or Lead Technician ready to take the next step into leadership while remaining hands-on when needed. This is a non-union leadership position for supervising union technicians. This position is based in Camden, NJ and pays $36 – 38.50/hr. The expected hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.

Requirements

  • 5+ years tractor trailer, diesel, or heavy equipment maintenance experience
  • Strong diagnostic skills (diesel, hydraulic, electrical)
  • Experience ordering parts and managing inventory
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Computer literate (maintenance systems & Outlook)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership, lead tech, or foreman experience preferred
  • Experience supervising union employees strongly preferred
  • CDL or ability to obtain preferred
  • Experience in transportation, construction, scrap, or recycling environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily shop operations and assign work to mechanics
  • Perform hands-on maintenance as needed
  • Oversee preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime
  • Maintain parts inventory and order replacement components
  • Coordinate outside vendors and repairs
  • Ensure DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA compliance
  • Utilize fleet systems and Outlook for communication and scheduling
  • Partner with operations to keep equipment production-ready
