Position – Senior Elevator & Escalator Inspector General Responsibilities: Support multiple active projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. Strong background in elevator and escalator systems testing & commissioning, construction coordination, and field operations. Lead testing & commissioning activities from planning through project closeout. Ensuring elevator and escalator are installed, tested, and operated in accordance with Owner Project Requirements (OPR). Technical Responsibilities: Lead the development and execution of commissioning plans, procedures, and documentation. Oversee and Perform: Pre-functional Inspections, Functional Performance Testing, Integrated Systems Testing and Pre-ASME Testing. Coordinate closely with Contractors, Design teams, Facility Owners, and Agency Representatives. Review Submittals, O&M manuals, Training documentation. Manage commissioning documentation including Checklists, Test reports, Issues tracking log. Prepare final commissioning report. Utilize project management tools including Facility Grid, Procore, Unifier, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management or related fields (Additional 5 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • 10 years construction inspection experience; 5 years of Testing and commissioning experience.
  • Strong understanding of Vertical Transportation (Elevator and Escalator) Systems, Testing & Commissioning processes and Construction operations.
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and documentation skills.
  • NAESA Qualified - Certified Elevator Inspector (QEI) – Required.
  • Ability to walk to active construction sites and access mechanical and electrical equipment rooms.
  • Ability to climb ladders and access elevated equipment locations.
  • Combination of field and office work (Manhattan-based office).
  • Local travel between project sites required.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety – Preferred.
