About The Position
The C.A.R.E.S. Academy is an option for a small population of students who have exhibited a variety of behavioral and/or mental health challenges throughout a process of documented interventions, with limited to no success. Students enrolled in this program will receive interventions and support in social/emotional skills, behavior management and regulation, and academic interventions. The successful applicant will teach all primary subjects and must have good classroom management skills, and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The candidate will also teach all Unified Arts classes to students (Art, Music, and Physical Education). Additionally, the candidate will work collaboratively with the C.A.R.E.S. Academy's Planning and Placement Team, home school staff, and other identified support staff members to provide academic, behavioral, and social/emotional interventions for identified students. Fluid class size will be a maximum of 10 students at one time.
Requirements
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to be a qualified and effective candidate for the vacancy.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree
- Holds or ability to hold West Virginia teacher licensure in the endorsement(s) of elementary education, K-6 or K-8 or multi-subjects, K-6.
