About The Position

Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a clinical healthcare environment.
  • Additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or EKG Technician.
  • Familiarity with insurance billing and coding processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bilingual abilities to assist diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, medical histories, and recording symptoms.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures by handling instruments and supplies.
  • Manage patient records, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and ensuring confidentiality.
  • Schedule patient appointments, answer phone calls, and coordinate communication between patients and medical staff.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, collect specimens, and ensure proper labeling and handling.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment and examination rooms.
  • Educate patients on medication instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up care as directed by healthcare providers.
