About The Position

HET provides engine accessories and heating solutions through branded components such as Janitrol Aero, Plane-Power, Aeroforce Turbocharger Systems, Sky-Tec, Fuelcraft, and PowerUP. The Engineering Technician (ET) supports new product development and production through laboratory test activities, working closely with designers and engineers from early design stages. This role is primarily based in the engineering lab, requiring strong technical skills, attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and the ability to work independently. The ET will be responsible for lab maintenance, material replenishment, programming test controls via LabView, performing environmental and performance tests, and working with technical drawings and specifications.
Requirements
- Two-year technical degree in related field or equivalent
- 3 years minimum experience in LabView programing
- 3 years minimum experience in basic electronics assembly
- 3 years minimum experience working with electronic instrumentation and controls
- Ability to read both mechanical and electrical/electronic technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits and mechanical systems
Nice To Haves
- 3 years minimum experience working in engineering laboratory environment
- Experience with DC machines and electromagnetic devices
- Experience with mechanical stress/strain and vibratory test methods
Responsibilities
- Support new product development and production efforts through laboratory test activities
- Coordinate test requirements with designers and engineers early in the design and support process
- Maintain the engineering lab and all lab equipment
- Insure that consumable materials are replenished
- Program test controls via LabView
- Perform environmental and performance tests
- Work with technical drawings and specifications
- Operate various types of laboratory test equipment
- Write LabView code for test system controls
- Perform engineering tests
- Assemble mechanical test hardware
- Assemble electronic test hardware
- Calibrate laboratory equipment
- Troubleshoot electronic/mechanical hardware
- Specify test equipment
- Maintain laboratory consumable materials inventory
