About The Position

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join their team. This is a field-based role responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including emergency roadside service. The technician will be provided with a fully equipped company service truck and will work independently to ensure fleets remain operational. The company is a fast-growing national provider of on-site fleet maintenance and mobile repair solutions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
  • DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise.
  • Strong communication skills – you know how to connect and communicate with customers and drivers alike.
  • Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems and digital tools to stay organized and document repairs.
  • Ready for the outdoors – rain or shine at customer yards.
  • Independent, dependable, and self-motivated – you take pride in getting the job done right.
  • A positive attitude and safety-first mindset.
  • Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
  • Bring your own hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment.
  • Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.
  • Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues fast.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to get the job done right.
  • Road test vehicles to ensure every repair meets top-quality standards.
  • Stay productive and efficient, meeting or beating industry-standard repair times.
  • Work with trusted vendors to source parts and keep operations moving.
  • Take ownership of a company-issued service truck, perform maintenance and pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensuring safety compliance.
  • Jump in wherever needed – we're a team that supports each other.
