About The Position
We are seeking a hands-on Controller to build and lead the accounting function for a growing ~$15M organization. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing all accounting processes, owning NetSuite, and managing cost accounting. The ideal candidate is a true doer who is comfortable operating independently, rolling up their sleeves, and creating structure where none currently exists.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or senior-level responsibility
- Strong NetSuite experience required
- Proven cost accounting experience (manufacturing or product-based environment strongly preferred)
- Experience building accounting processes and controls in a growing or entrepreneurial environment
- Highly hands-on with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities
- Build, implement, and maintain all accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls from the ground up
- Own day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and month-end close
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely and accurate financial reporting
- Manage and optimize NetSuite, including setup, workflows, reporting, and integrations
- Oversee cost accounting, including product costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and margin analysis
- Prepare and present financial statements, forecasts, and variance analysis to leadership
- Manage budgeting and cash flow forecasting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Support operational leaders with financial insights to drive profitability and efficiency
- Scale processes and systems to support company growth
