About The Position

Requirements

• Proficiency in Mastercam milling and turning.
• Experience with CNC mills (3–5+ axis), lathes (2–5+ axis), and FANUC, Haas, Mazak, and Makino controls.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, DFM, G-code/M-code, CNC tooling, and machine geometry.
• Experience machining metals and other materials used in aerospace, including aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, plastics, and composites.
• Familiarity with aerospace and defense quality standards such as DPD and AS9100.

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years of hands-on CNC programming and machining experience.
• Experience with 3+2 indexing and true 5-axis simultaneous motion programming.
• Aerospace or defense manufacturing background.
• Ability to mentor junior machinists and lead process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize Mastercam CNC programs for 3-axis, 4-axis, and true 5-axis milling, lathe, and mill-turn operations.
• Verify programs before machine runs using Mastercam and simulation tools such as CIMCO Simulation.
• Load and verify programs and support machine-side prove-out; assist with setup and changeover as necessary.
• Improve cycle times, machining efficiency, and manufacturability.
• Participate in fixture design, tooling selection, and tool vendor evaluation.
• Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, apply GD&T, and manage multi-datum tolerances.
• Collaborate with planning, quality, engineering, purchasing, and production teams to meet shop goals and optimize processes.
• Generate setup and technical documentation from programs for shop use.
• Support CNC machine setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance as necessary.
