About The Position

Arbor Energy is seeking a senior CNC machinist to manufacture advanced turbomachinery designs, including parts made from 3D-printed nickel-based materials. The El Segundo machine shop currently includes a Bridgeport, a machine lathe, and a Haas VF3 with 5-axis capabilities, with plans to add another full 5-axis machine. The ideal candidate has experience machining tight tolerances and setting up and running 3D-printed parts. This is an onsite role in El Segundo, California.

Requirements

10 or more years of experience operating CNC machinery.
Ability to interpret drawings and GD&T.
Experience with shop math, tooling technology, blueprint reading, and part measurement.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Strong interpersonal skills, including contributing to a team-oriented environment and balancing team and individual responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability using 5th-axis mills.

Willingness to travel for short trips as needed, up to 20%.

Responsibilities

Perform precision setups on CNC and manual machines.
Program using Mastercam.
Prioritize daily work to maintain high machine uptime across the shop.
Use a CMM arm.
Manage CNC cutting tools, ensuring tools are loaded and measured before upcoming programs are run.
Operate clean-line equipment and laser part-marking equipment, and perform general part finishing.
Use calibrated devices to ensure machined hardware conforms to print requirements.
Perform weekly and monthly CNC machine preventive maintenance.
Maintain the shop, including chip bins, oils, greases, 5S, and general upkeep.
Adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment and support teammates.
Complete work instructions and test plans to document required process data.
