About The Position
The childbirth educator demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in providing educational programs for the parent education department. The educator’s knowledge and skills must be appropriate to the classes they teach. The position works under the supervision of the Parent Education Coordinator and the VP of Women’s Services, with general guidance and direction. The employee is expected to perform most duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned by the coordinator as needed.
Requirements
- Must be an RN or certified by a nationally or internationally recognized program, such as ICEA, CAPPA, or DONA.
- Perform most job duties independently in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide education programs for the parent education department.
- Teach classes appropriate to the educator’s knowledge and skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Parent Education Coordinator.
