About The Position
District Chef needed for school food service program in the Essex County, NJ area. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekends required for catering events. The role operates in a fast-paced team environment.
Requirements
- Culinary experience is required.
- Must be willing to travel within the district.
- Chef testing will be given.
- Must be able to obtain proper documentation to work in schools.
- Must have experience in catering.
- Must have experience in satellite preparation.
- ServSafe® certification required.
Nice To Haves
- K-12 experience a plus.
Responsibilities
- Creating different menus items while adhering to school food service guideline NSLP.
- Inventory and quality control.
- Maintain a clean kitchen.
- Follow safety rules at all times.
