Assisting Hands Home Care Merrillville is actively hiring Caregivers to provide non-medical in-home care to seniors and adults. We are hiring in Crown Point, Merrillville, Gary, Dyer, Schererville, Munster, Valparaiso, Hobart, Chesterton, and surrounding communities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • CNA or HHA certification is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
  • Ability to pass National background check
  • CPR certification and TB test (or willingness to obtain)
  • Must be dependable, professional, and compassionate
  • Comfortable using a smartphone

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year caregiving experience preferred (Caregiver, CNA, HHA, PCA, DSP, or similar role)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transfers
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Help with meal preparation and light housekeeping
  • Perform laundry, bed changes, and home organization
  • Provide medication reminders (no administration)
  • Assist with walking, wheelchair, and mobility support
  • Observe and report changes in client condition
  • Use mobile app for clock-in, clock-out, and documentation
  • Follow care plans, safety, and infection control procedures
