About The Position
The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services for our organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of procurement processes.
Requirements
- Ability to build collaborative relationships
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft applications
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers
- Solid understanding of materials management principles
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on findings
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and procedures
- Proficient in using procurement systems and software
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) is preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost savings and supplier performance
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable terms for the organization
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulations related to procurement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support category management initiatives
- Utilize root cause analysis techniques to identify areas for improvement in the procurement process
