About The Position
The Biomedical Engineering Technician I performs tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment and systems. The role also supports, troubleshoots, and maintains department-specific tasks related to the UW Health Real-Time Locating System (RTLS) database. The technician keeps accurate records of repairs and follows up with customers about work performed or scheduled. The position is scheduled for 100% day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; hours may vary based on departmental operational needs.
Requirements
- No minimum education is required.
- Must possess a current, valid driver's license issued by the individual's state of residence.
- Must be of legal driving age to operate a personal vehicle for UW Health business purposes.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate's degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- One year of previous Biomedical Engineering Technician or electronics-related technical field experience.
- OEM or computer system certifications applicable to UW Health.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair biomedical equipment and systems.
- Support, troubleshoot, and maintain department-specific tasks related to the UW Health Real-Time Locating System (RTLS) database.
- Keep accurate records of repairs.
- Follow up with customers on work performed or scheduled.
