About The Position
The Pro-Insulin Biochemist extracts, purifies, and ships pro-insulin-based products from E. coli and external sources. The role performs automated purifications using chromatographic techniques, including HPLC and UPLC, and conducts high-throughput testing with laboratory automation and liquid-handling equipment. It also involves preparing buffers and solutions, maintaining inventories and laboratory equipment, documenting assay data and experiments, and contributing to study reports. The biochemist assists with troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, develops knowledge of laboratory operations, and interacts with internal and external stakeholders. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; overtime may be needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry or a related field.
- At least 3 months of technical laboratory experience, with demonstrated proficiency in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to work effectively with others in a team setting.
- Strong hands-on experimental skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and time/task-management skills and adaptability.
- Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Extract, purify, and ship pro-insulin-based products from E. coli and external sources.
- Execute automated purifications using chromatographic techniques, including HPLC and UPLC.
- Prepare buffers and solutions and maintain inventories and laboratory equipment.
- Document assay data and contribute to study reports.
- Operate and program laboratory automation and liquid-handling systems for high-throughput testing.
- Document experiments in laboratory notebooks.
- Assist with troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of various aspects of laboratory operations.
- Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
