About The Position

The Peptide Biochemist performs small-scale peptide synthesis and automated purification using chromatographic techniques, including HPLC, UPLC, and LC-MS. The role also involves preparing buffers and solutions, maintaining inventories and laboratory equipment, documenting assay data and experiments, and contributing to study reports. The position operates, programs, and performs high-throughput testing using laboratory automation and liquid handling. The biochemist assists with troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation, develops and maintains knowledge of laboratory operations, and interacts effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
Experience with HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS, buffer preparation, and peptide synthesis.
Strong scientific, organizational, and computer skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Clear and effective written and verbal communication.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality data delivery using ALCOA+ principles.

Responsibilities

Perform peptide synthesis for small-scale production.
Clean and maintain synthesizers.
Execute automated purifications using chromatographic techniques, including HPLC, UPLC, and LC-MS.
Prepare buffers and solutions and maintain inventories and laboratory equipment.
Document assay data and contribute to study reports.
Operate and program laboratory automation and liquid-handling equipment, and perform high-throughput testing.
Document experiments in notebooks.
Assist with troubleshooting, operation, and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation.
Develop and maintain knowledge of various aspects of laboratory operations.
Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
