About The Position
SAIC is seeking a Junior Cloud Administrator to support the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in Rockville, Maryland. The NRC Global Infrastructure and Development Acquisition provides IT support to NRC Headquarters and four regional offices. This entry-level role focuses on foundational cloud administration, including user administration, routine monitoring, basic provisioning, backup operations, and helpdesk troubleshooting under the guidance of senior cloud professionals.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust.
- Bachelor’s degree and 0 to 2 years of experience in system administration, IT helpdesk, or general cloud support.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of fundamental networking concepts, including IP addressing, DNS, and subnets.
- Understanding of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to learn Infrastructure as Code tools such as PowerShell or Bash.
Nice To Haves
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), or active progress toward the Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification.
- Quick learner.
Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and delete user accounts, groups, and permissions in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
- Deploy pre-configured virtual machines, storage accounts, and standard network security groups using established templates.
- Monitor active system health alerts in Azure Monitor, log issues, and review cost management dashboards for budget anomalies.
- Run, verify, and restore backups for virtual machines and databases using Azure Backup and Azure Recovery Services.
- Handle helpdesk tickets related to password resets, access denials, and unresponsive cloud environments.
