About The Position
The Animal Control Officer is primarily responsible for identifying, handling, and restraining animals and assisting with monitoring and ensuring compliance with city ordinances and state and federal laws regarding the treatment and care of animals. The role requires responding to emergency call-outs within 15 to 20 minutes of dispatch on a bi-weekly rotation and working in all weather conditions. The schedule is assigned by the Director of the Animal Shelter.
Requirements
- Be able to respond to emergency call-outs within 15 to 20 minutes of being dispatched during the assigned bi-weekly rotation.
- Be able to work in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Identify, handle, and restrain animals.
- Assist with monitoring and ensuring compliance with city ordinances and state and federal laws regarding the treatment and care of animals.
- Respond to emergency call-outs within 15 to 20 minutes of dispatch during a bi-weekly rotation.
