About The Position

This position involves teaching the laboratory portion of ECEn 380, Signals and Systems, during the Fall Semester of 2026. The course has two sections, each meeting once a week for 3-hour laboratory sessions in the ECEn Analog Lab. Each section is expected to have approximately 75 students. The instructor will be responsible for teaching lab assignment introductory lectures, supervising teaching assistants, advising students, and attending laboratory sessions. Instructional materials will be provided, but the instructor may need to make minor updates. This position requires the successful candidate to relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of their employment.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, completed by the start date.
  • Two or more years of experience as an academic or practicing engineer or scientist in areas related to signals and systems, such as digital signal processing, control theory, digital communications, image processing, sonar, radar, analog circuit design, spectral analysis, transforms, differential equation analysis, discrete-time system analysis, linear systems theory, etc.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching the laboratory portion of ECEn 380 during Fall Semester 2026.
  • Teaching lab assignment introductory lectures on theory and practice.
  • Supervising teaching assistants (there will be 6 to 8 student TAs).
  • Advising students as they work on lab experiments.
  • Supervising laboratory grading.
  • Attending at least 1.5 hours of each section’s weekly session.
  • Making limited updates and modifications to laboratory assignments and instructional materials to adapt to their own teaching approach.
