About The Position
The Marblehead YMCA is seeking a Zumba Instructor to lead welcoming, engaging group fitness classes for members of all fitness levels. The instructor creates a motivating environment in which participants feel successful and excited to return, while bringing enthusiasm, consistency, and a positive presence to each class. Classes focus on Zumba and/or cardio and use the YMCA’s equipment and class spaces.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must have a current Zumba or related Group Exercise Certification.
- Prior experience teaching group fitness classes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse participants.
- Working knowledge of exercise science, technique, and fitness principles.
- Passion for helping others achieve their health and wellness goals.
Nice To Haves
- Zumba and/or cardio teaching experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead safe, dynamic, and fun group fitness classes focused on Zumba and/or cardio.
- Educate participants on proper form, technique, and modifications as needed.
- Foster an encouraging and inclusive environment that promotes member engagement and retention.
- Bring enthusiasm, consistency, and a positive presence to each class.
- Use YMCA equipment and class spaces to enhance instruction.
