About The Position

The Zumba® Instructor leads engaging group fitness classes at Speer YMCA. The instructor creates a welcoming and inclusive environment, motivates participants of all fitness levels, and delivers high-quality, safe, and enjoyable workouts aligned with YMCA standards. This is a part-time position paying $20.00–$23.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications. Work location: Speer YMCA, 495 62nd Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33702.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Current Zumba® Instructor Certification required.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to connect with and engage diverse populations.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and inspire others.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must pass a 10-panel drug screen.
• Must successfully complete a Level 2 background check through the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

Responsibilities

• Lead dynamic and safe Zumba® classes for members of varying fitness levels.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating class environment.
• Build strong relationships with members and encourage ongoing participation.
• Arrive prepared with structured class plans and appropriate music.
• Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Provide modifications and support to accommodate different abilities.
• Represent the YMCA's mission and values in all interactions.
