About The Position
The Speer YMCA is seeking an experienced, passionate, and energetic Line Dance Instructor to teach classes to adults. The instructor will lead engaging, easy-to-follow classes and help create an inclusive, encouraging environment where participants feel welcome. Classes should combine fun and high energy with attention to participant safety and proper technique, while building confidence and community through movement.
Requirements
- Prior experience teaching dance, group fitness, or line dancing specifically.
- Ability to choreograph or adapt routines for different skill levels.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, upbeat personality.
- Ability to pass a 10-panel drug screen.
- Clear a Level 2 background check through DCF (Florida).
Nice To Haves
- Formal dance or fitness certifications are a plus but not required.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred; the YMCA may assist with training if needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and easy-to-follow line dance classes for participants of all ages and skill levels.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment where everyone feels welcome on the dance floor.
- Develop lesson plans that introduce classic and modern line dance routines.
- Ensure participant safety and proper technique while keeping classes fun and high-energy.
- Build strong connections with members and inspire confidence and community through movement.
