About The Position

This position leads, motivates, trains, and supports warehouse personnel to ensure that shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution are performed efficiently and warehouse contents are protected against loss. The role supervises general warehouse operations, helps ensure safety and security, and may perform warehouse duties as needed to meet objectives and goals. The position may manage more than $2.5 million in inventory and use production tools to measure employee productivity. It supervises up to 3–10 reports and requires up to 5% travel.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED and 4–6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Understanding of safe procedures for receiving, storing, requisitions, shipping, and delivery.
Basic knowledge of inventory procedures.
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to meet the qualifications in the company’s Driver Management Program if the role requires travel or driving.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
Furniture repair and home delivery experience.

Responsibilities

Supervise general warehouse operations and employees.
Schedule inbound and outbound arrivals.
Maintain a constant presence at the dock and inspect work in progress.
Apply and enforce policies and procedures.
Train and supervise personnel to maximize productivity.
Hire, train, coach, and conduct official evaluations for warehouse personnel.
Maintain safety, security, and cleanliness throughout the facility and property.
Unload, load, deluxe, and perform minor furniture repairs as needed.
Perform warehouse duties as needed to ensure objectives and goals are met.
