About The Position

Club Beyond is seeking a Youth Ministry Director to lead and oversee its Young Life Military program at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson (JBER), Alaska. The program serves teenagers from active-duty military families, many of whom move repeatedly during their school years. Staff walk alongside teens and create a safe, Christ-centered community where they can form friendships, find belonging, build hope, and develop resilience. The ministry is ecumenical and outreach-oriented, with an exclusively military focus. The position requires living near the community where the ministry takes place. The director develops relationships with teens, adults, families, the local community, the military installation, and the chapel community. They help provide outreach to teens who are not involved in church, discipleship for Christian teens, and hands-on middle- and high-school youth programs with trained volunteers. Staff should be prepared for frequent turnover among teens, families, chaplains, and volunteers, and should respect the influence of military culture. The role calls for a relational, incarnational approach and alignment with Club Beyond’s values: Christ-centered leadership, ecumenical perspective, strategic partnerships, professionalism, and excellent stewardship. The employer describes openings as both full-time and part-time across locations; the employment type for this specific position is not stated. The listed base salary range is $45,000–$60,000, based on education and experience, with a location-dependent cost-of-living adjustment and annual national funding of $16,667.
