ID1 Yield Analysis Engineer

Micron•Boise, ID

About The Position

Micron Technology is a world leader in memory and storage solutions. The Yield Analysis Engineer monitors probe yields for assigned product families, generates a Fab yield-issue Pareto, and submits failure-analysis jobs to the ID1 YE Lab to identify failure mechanisms. The role creates reports on the root causes of yield deviations and drives process-related changes to improve manufacturing-line yield. The engineer maintains an accurate Pareto of yield issues; identifies new issues by monitoring probe yields and trends; explains gaps between target and actual yields; and connects part operation and fabrication processes to probe results. The role also identifies and samples wafers for failure analysis and communicates results and potential courses of action to appropriate Fab areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 12 months of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
  • Experience using Probe, Param, RDA, and Fab metrics to identify, interpret, and solve yield issues.
  • Ability to identify appropriate wafers for failure analysis.
  • Ability to correlate inline defectivity to yield impact.
  • Ability to correlate inline and parametric data to support Cpk improvement activities.
  • Data-analysis skills, including data mining and numerical correlations using P-value, Probe, and Param data.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor probe yields and trends for particular product families and identify new yield issues.
  • Generate and maintain an accurate Pareto of yield issues for the Fab.
  • Explain gaps between target yields and actual yields.
  • Understand part operation and fabrication processes and how they relate to probe results.
  • Identify and sample appropriate wafers for failure analysis, and submit failure-analysis jobs to the ID1 YE Lab.
  • Create reports identifying the root cause of yield deviations and drive process-related changes to improve manufacturing-line yield.
  • Communicate yield and failure-analysis results to appropriate areas in the Fab and provide potential courses of action.

Benefits

  • Choice of medical, dental, and vision plans.
  • Income-protection benefit programs in case of illness or injury.
  • Paid family leave.
  • Paid time off.
  • Paid holidays.
