The Corporate Relations Intern supports Union Pacific’s Community Ties Giving Program and gains hands-on experience in corporate philanthropy, community relations, communications, data management, and project support. The role includes administering corporate giving software, reviewing and processing grant applications, serving as a contact for community organizations, tracking event sponsorships, reconciling contribution information for corporate reporting, analyzing giving histories, and supporting other assignments related to Union Pacific’s philanthropic programs. Communication and data management are key aspects of the internship. The intern also works closely with the Public Affairs team, gaining exposure to community relationship-building, legislative affairs, and project management. Interns build knowledge of Union Pacific’s business groups, objectives, processes, systems, and services, interact with peers and senior leaders, and apply leadership, technical skills, and business knowledge through projects. This is a paid, year-round internship anticipated to begin in May 2027. The schedule allows flexibility around academic commitments: interns may work up to 25 hours per week during the school year and must work 40 hours per week in person in Omaha, Nebraska, during the summer. During the academic year, remote work may be available to students attending school outside Nebraska, based on business needs. The estimated wage is $21–$25 per hour; the final rate depends on factors including year of study, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
