About The Position

The Yard Supervisor manages day-to-day yard activities related to inventory and auto haulers entering and exiting the property for vehicle movement. The role also assists with daily terminal management in alignment with the Company's goals and initiatives.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Two or more years of related experience.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Ability to multitask, work independently, and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, including periods of standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

CDL license.
Bilingual Spanish/English.

Responsibilities

Inspect cargo units and record damage in PAL’s Magnus Transportation Management System (TMS).
Advise auto haulers on proper damage procedures and required notifications.
Observe auto haulers to ensure they follow proper safety practices and loading procedures.
Ensure loads meet space requirements and are secured according to customer guidelines and requirements.
Document and immediately notify responsible parties of maintenance or safety issues that could cause serious injury or damage.
Notify Safety of reasonable suspicion so potentially unsafe drivers can be immediately relieved from work pending a complete investigation.
Enforce yard rules, policies, and procedures.
Assist with preparing building loads and work assignments for auto haulers as needed.
Conduct daily and weekly yard audits to verify inventory.
Shuttle drivers to vehicle locations or another yard.
Maintain the company vehicle through routine servicing and cleaning.
