Yard Hopper - Day Shift
About The Position
Up-North Plastics is seeking a Yard Hopper at its Cottage Grove, Minnesota location. The role involves relocating, docking, and transporting trailers within the manufacturing facility, as well as unloading trailers, inventorying materials, and picking materials. The Yard Hopper works in a fast-paced production environment and must accurately record information. The position uses a Yard Jockey truck and propane-powered sit-down forklifts to move trailers and load and unload them. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management as needed. The schedule is a 12-hour day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., working three days one week and four days the next. Starting pay is $19.00–$22.00. Applications are not accepted from candidates in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, or California.
Requirements
- Experience driving commercial trucks or yard mules.
- A current U.S. driver's license; a CDL is not required.
- Ability to handle trailers quickly in tight spaces.
- Ability to operate forklifts.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to operate inventory control software and RF scanners.
Responsibilities
- Relocate, dock, and transport trailers within the manufacturing facility.

- Accurately record information while keeping pace with a fast-paced production environment.
- Use propane-powered sit-down forklifts to load and unload trailers and a Yard Jockey to move trailers.
