About The Position

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Hopper Utility to work at its manufacturing facility in Goodyear, Arizona. The role involves loading and unloading pellets into the hopper and supporting production while following food safety, quality, and production standards. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with some Saturdays as needed. The work area may contain allergens.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the production team, maintain accurate production records, monitor product and packaging quality, and follow personal and food safety procedures. The role also requires responding to production needs, communicating supply requirements and concerns, and helping maintain a safe and efficient workplace.

Requirements

• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 pounds.
• Strong commitment to personal and food safety policies and procedures.
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to contribute to company values and goals.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Ability to respond quickly to changes and pay close attention to detail.
• Knowledge of safe operating practices involving lock-out/tag-out programs and food safety.
• Experience with general mechanic tools, such as Allen wrenches and screwdrivers.
• Demonstrated ability to operate production and data entry equipment.

Responsibilities

• Unload and load pellets into the hopper to meet production needs and product specifications.
• Inspect product and packaging quality, and notify the machine operator or supervisor about issues.
• Accurately record production data in the system.
• Communicate when production supplies are needed.
• Cover for team members during breaks or absences.
• Follow safety procedures and address safety concerns to support a zero-accident culture.
• Collaborate with a diverse team and provide input on process improvements.
• Follow Food Safety programs and report issues to management.
• Perform other tasks as needed to support the team and company goals.
