About The Position

Tibbetts Lumber Co. LLC, a growing lumber and building materials company, is seeking an experienced Yard Associate. Under direct supervision, the Yard Associate performs a variety of yard activities, including operating a forklift to move products and materials throughout the yard and providing customer service to Tibbetts Lumber customers. The role also involves maintaining product stock, reviewing and routing paperwork, keeping the yard clean, and following safety procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Clean and valid driver's license.
Six months of experience performing these or similar tasks, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
OSHA Forklift Certification; training is provided.
Experience building frame packs.
Knowledge of various types of lumber.
Ability to operate motorized and non-motorized material-handling equipment.
Knowledge of safety procedures while performing tasks.
Strong customer service skills.
Knowledge of company products and inventory available at the work location.
Ability to read and understand invoices and requisitions.

Responsibilities

Assist customers in locating and loading products.
Review materials loaded against invoices or requisitions, and complete and route paperwork appropriately.
Move products and materials throughout the yard and ensure they are placed in the correct areas.
Ensure products and materials are well stocked at all times.
Perform routine yard cleanup.
Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices.
Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
Perform other duties as assigned.
