About The Position

PERI is seeking a Yard Associate to perform manual tasks supporting operations within its stockyard. The role involves working across different stockyard departments and completing assigned tasks based on current operational needs. The Yard Associate works with the team to maintain a Safety-First Culture. The position involves loading, unloading, counting, cleaning, moving, and maintaining equipment and materials; operating powered industrial equipment; supporting craft workers; and recording order and shipment data using handheld technology. It also requires outdoor work in all weather conditions for eight hours per day and the ability to perform frequent physical tasks.

Have visual acuity for close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Be able to pull, push, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining balance.
Be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, and crouch.
Be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions for eight hours per day.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned departmental tasks within the designated timeframe.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
Assist with inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
Safely and efficiently operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts.
Assist with yard maintenance and cleanup.
Clean, count, and move equipment as assigned.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following safety and housekeeping procedures.
Assist in coaching and mentoring new hires during onboarding.
Use handheld technology or similar devices to accurately enter and track order counts and shipment data.
Assist craft workers as required.
