About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Yard Associate, also described as a Porter / Yard Worker. The role stations and retrieves equipment on the location’s property, maintains a written maintenance schedule, and may service equipment as necessary to ensure it meets specifications. The Yard Associate inspects equipment before and after rental and documents lost or damaged equipment. This is a fast-paced, safety-focused role with opportunities to advance into mechanic, driver, or customer service positions. The job requires physical activity and work indoors or outdoors as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers in writing and orally.
• Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• General mechanical aptitude.
• Safety-focused approach.
• Ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors when required by the job.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred.
• Some experience and/or training in mechanical equipment repair preferred.
• Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required based on location needs.
