About The Position

Southeastern Equipment is seeking a dependable, hands-on Yard Associate to help keep its equipment yard organized and daily operations running smoothly. The role manages equipment movement, inspection, cleaning, and preparation so machines are ready for service or customer delivery. It also supports service technicians and the parts department, assists with equipment demonstrations when needed, and works with team members across departments. The position is based in Novi, Michigan, is full-time and non-exempt, and requires occasional travel for training. The role involves working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and typical equipment-yard conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to follow OSHA safety standards and EPA regulations.
• Basic understanding of DOT regulations.
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Frequent walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing, and kneeling.
• Comfort working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and around dirt, dust, fumes, and other equipment-yard conditions.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for operating, cleaning, and inspecting equipment.
• Dependable, hardworking, organized, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to manage multiple tasks and work with a team.

Nice To Haves

• At least 6 months of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Experience with power or pressure washing equipment.
• Previous experience in construction, equipment rental, or a similar hands-on environment.
• Enjoyment of hands-on work and operating heavy equipment; eagerness to learn new skills and support different departments.

Responsibilities

• Manage equipment coming into and leaving the yard, including accurately completing Delivery/Pickup Orders (DPO).
• Inspect, check in, and check out equipment and attachments according to company procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized equipment yard.
• Power wash and clean equipment inside and out so it is ready for customers.
• Assist service technicians by delivering parts, moving equipment, and preparing machines for service.
• Safely load and unload trucks with equipment and parts.
• Support the parts department with inventory, organization, merchandising, and annual inventory audits.
• Assist with equipment demonstrations when needed.
• Work with team members across departments to support efficient daily operations.
