About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Yard Associate, also described as a Porter / Yard Worker, to station and retrieve equipment on the location’s property. The role maintains a written maintenance schedule and may service equipment as necessary to ensure it meets specifications. The Yard Associate inspects equipment before and after rentals to document lost or damaged equipment. This is a safety-focused, fast-paced role with opportunities to advance into mechanic, driver, or customer service roles. The physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors when required.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers in writing and orally.
• Ability to perform basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• General mechanical aptitude.
• Safety-focused approach.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with common construction and industrial tools preferred.
• Some experience and/or training in mechanical equipment repair preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Bilingual in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
