About The Position

Carolina Foods, maker of Duchess Brand snacks, manufactures sweet baked goods including honey buns, baked and fried pies, and gem donuts. The Wrapper Operator is an hourly lead person on a production line responsible for ensuring products are wrapped in the correct film and with the proper codes, that the wrapping process is orderly, and that quality products are shipped. The position works with plant management and production employees and reports directly to the Production Supervisor. The schedule is a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with 12-hour shifts worked four to five days a week. The role includes operating and setting up wrapping machinery, keeping production supplied and organized, and completing end-of-shift cleanup. Physical requirements include lifting more than 50 pounds, reading and writing basic English, and standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending during the shift. The work environment also requires the ability to sit for extended periods and to walk on level and uneven surfaces, bend, crouch, kneel, and perform manual functions.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate wrapping machines.
Adjust machine speed to handle product flow.
Ensure orders are followed according to the wrap sheet.
Ensure the proper amount of cartons and baskets are available.
Use the proper film and code according to the wrap sheet.
Ensure the box machine is on and ready before production starts.
Feed racked-off products onto the line when product flow is interrupted.
Open rewraps.
Ensure catch pans and baskets are emptied of culls, sugar, chocolate, and other materials.
Complete end-of-shift cleanup responsibilities.
Maintain an orderly wrapping process on the production line.
Ensure quality products are shipped.
