About The Position

The Bakery Wrapper ensures products reaching the display case are accurately wrapped, weighed, labeled, and stocked, with careful attention to product quality and presentation. The role also provides friendly customer service, supports bakery operations and coworkers, maintains sanitation and an organized work area, and follows Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines. This is a fast-paced bakery role that involves being on your feet throughout the shift. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Hy-Vee Food Safety program required.
Follow written, verbal, or diagrammatic instructions with attention to detail.
Accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
Work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced bakery environment.
Complete a pre-employment drug screen successfully.

Nice To Haves

Six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greet customers, learn their names, and make interactions positive.
Wrap, weigh, and accurately label products; apply merchandising labels.
Stock cases and rotate products with attention to presentation.
Inspect products before display to ensure quality and appearance standards are met.
Ensure signage is correct and advertised items are available; inform the Bakery Manager about out-of-stock products.
Take customer orders at the bakery counter and answer the telephone promptly.
Assist the designer by decorating and writing on cakes when the designer is absent.
Assist the baker by pulling products from the freezer and dropping cookies, donuts, and similar items.
Follow proper sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Work as part of a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other store areas as needed and complete special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
