About The Position

The Workstation Associate is responsible for assembling patient trays according to menu selections and dietary restrictions, addressing special requests, and supporting patient satisfaction through quality service. The role also involves cleaning tasks such as dishwashing, pot washing, general sanitation, and cleaning kitchen equipment. Associates follow applicable health, sanitation, food-safety, confidentiality, and workplace-safety procedures, and complete required reports on schedule.

Requirements

• One year of previous food-service experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble patient trays accurately and promptly according to menu selections on tray tickets.
• Accommodate special and modified diet restrictions while meeting patient food preferences within diet-order guidelines.
• Communicate patient food issues, concerns, and needs to Food & Nutrition Services.
• Coordinate with Nursing regarding patient nutrition requirements and unit food-service needs.
• Contribute to patient satisfaction by providing quality service.
• Follow facility confidentiality and patient-rights policies, including HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food supplies.
• Complete required daily, weekly, and monthly reports accurately and by prescribed deadlines.
• Select and use cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer directions and MSDS sheets.
• Use equipment according to department safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
